Welcome to Understanding the numbers at the Overwaitea Food Group.
Learner characterisitics:
The learners for this course would be brand new team members to the company that could vary in ages. All generations would be represented. Some learners would still be in high school, some might have graduated from high school, some may have a little college or they might have a degree. Computer skills would vary as well as language skills. We have many team members whose first language is not english.
Learning Objective: Illustrate how the Overwaitea Food Group makes money
I have created a small video file in Windows Movie Maker with simple images to portray how
$ 10 in the till doesn't really mean $ 10 in profit. Our new team members need to understand that it takes money to make money in our business and that our profit margins are very slim. This first module will help to build a foundation for our new team members to understand how slim our margins are and as they grow with our company doing their jobs with finesse and skill will help us to remain a viable company in this economy.
Please play this movie and Understand the numbers. ( the audio quality is not the greatest as my 3 year old dropped my laptop and I believe the microphone is damaged now... sorry for the disruption when you listen!)
By way of a review - please click the "play" button that will take you to a puzzle to solve. This is a review fun exercise and is not timed. It is designed to help the learner review the material presented in a fun way to create engagement for the learner. The "play" button does take you to an outside website to solve the puzzle. This may be a bit confusing if the learner wants to get back to this blog to watch the lesson again. As I do believe this course for us would be launched through an LMS and not a blog then it would be cleaner and more contained for the learner in the future. For my reviewers, just write down this blog address in case you want to come back

Thanks so much for your help.
